Cultural Artifact - Pillars of a Nation by Jim Daly
This limited edition painting is entitled as "Pillars of a Nation" by Jim Daly. Jim Daly has won several awards including merit awards, the Mill Pond Press award, and "People's Choice" awards. Jim Daly paints from what comes from his heart. His paintings usually depict experiences of reliving his own childhood and life experiences. However, this painting is a depiction of experience of immigration, most especially during the early 1900s. This painting was commissioned by a man whose grandfather went to Ellis Island when he immigrated to the United States from Hungary in 1907. This man like others who immigrated to the United States had a burning desire to have a better life in America. This painting is a tribute to that grandfather and to all immigrants who came to North America.
